You don’t have to travel to Saint-Tropez to lie on a beach. When the sun shines, you simply have to switch the GPS to Geraardsbergen. It’s high summer every day at the De Gavers swimming pond. The beach area is the perfect place for tanning or a beach volleyball tournament with friends.

If it rains, you can relax here as well. The swimming pool - Het Gaversbad - is ideal for little swimmers. They will have the time of their lives. With three different swimming pools and an exciting water slide at your disposal, the day will fly by.

A day full of playing? Check!

Be cool and challenge your kids to a go-kart race. Are you looking for something even more challenging? Then try the mini-bikes – fun is guaranteed! You can also explore the large playground, bump up and down on the trampolines or make the paths unsafe with a scooter.

Because growing up is boring, take the kids for some laser shooting afterwards. Work together or battle each other – you choose. Paddling on the pond is also an option. Watch the little ones fall asleep on the back seat on the way home.

You can explore the area on foot. After all, we are in the Flemish Ardennes, the walking region par excellence. The whole domain has paved paths that are accessible for buggies and wheelchairs.

If you like to explore nature, the Walking past Gavers and Nuchten route is highly recommended. It will take you to De Nuchten nature reserve, where you will feel completely removed from the world. Raspaille Forest is also not far away. That’s another dream location for an enjoyable walk.

Good food, a good night’s sleep

Did you know that you can spend the night at De Gavers? You can pitch your own tent at the campsite. If you don’t feel like camping, you can always rent a bungalow. For affordable and comfortable rooms, visit the on-site youth hostel.

Naturally, you’ve become very hungry after all that playing, exercise and relaxing. Well, you’re in luck! Restoga De Gavers is an excellent restaurant. It offers small snacks as well as extensive lunches and dinners. In other words, something for everyone!
