3 lodgings for cyclists or ‘Flandriens’

3 lodgings for cyclists or ‘Flandriens’

After a whole day of cycling the Flemish Classics over cobblestone sections, leg killers and the Flemish Ardennes’ inclines, your body – and bike – long to be pampered. These three holiday homes amidst the backdrop of the Tour of Flanders are tailor-made for cycling enthusiasts.

Fietsers Muur Geraardsbergen

Kanak holiday home

A stone’s throw from the Wall of Geraardsbergen, right on the Tour of Flanders route, you’ll find Stijn and Karolien’s holiday home ‘Kanak’. They prefer to call it a ‘sports guesthouse’. And rightly so. Cycling enthusiasts can wash their bikes and park them safely overnight in the locked bike shed, where they can also carry out minor repairs. If you want a fresh jersey for the next day, you can wash and dry your outfit in the laundry room. The holiday home is equipped with a kitchen, living room and three bedrooms, enough space for 8 people.

Holiday homes Flandrienhoeve & Chasse Patate

A duo of holiday homes at the foot of the Oude Kwaremont, another highlight of the Flemish cycling classics, is hemmed in by a tangle of cycling and mountain biking routes. Cycling enthusiasts, friends, families and companies can relax here after a day of pedalling. One of the holiday homes is called "Chasse Patate", which is a failed breakaway in cycling. The name says it all: everything here exudes cycling. You can unwind in the refurbished barn with up to 16 people. The meadows and natural beauty will see to that. You sleep in one of the eight rooms whose names refer to famous sections of Flemish Classics.

In the other holiday home, Flandrienhoeve, 30 people can catch their breath. In the quiet and rural square farmhouse, you’ll literally sleep between Rik Van Steenbergen, Roger de Vlaeminck, Tom Boonen, Eddy Merckx, Peter Van Petegem or Johan Musseeuw. All the rooms are named after cycling heroes.

Several caterers in the neighbourhood will take care of your breakfast, put together a nice picnic lunch or come and serve you a hot dinner.
